Saint Winifred, Hudson, New York

I was born in Ottawa, Canada. In my twenties, I worked as a documentary filmmaker in Montréal at the National Film Board of Canada. A powerful wanderlust drew me to New York City, where I was a journalist for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. From writing screenplays, I discovered my passion for fiction which grew into what became my first novel Woonsocket: the Lourdes of New England. I completed the manuscript of Woonsocket in the summer of 2020. I have been in search of representation since then.

I am currently writing a prequel to Woonsocket titled The Anemones which is the second book of the Woonsocket Trilogy. Both manuscripts focus on French Canadian characters against the background of the massive French Canadian migration to New England (from the 1840’s through the 1930’s) a topic, which, for generations, was suppressed in Québec and largely forgotten in the U.S. As a Québécoise who immigrated to this country, I feel compelled to rescue this North American moment from oblivion.

I live with my husband Rhodes and our dog Brioche in Hudson, NY.
